National Healthcare Quality Week was established in 1985 by the National Association of Healthcare Quality to recognize and celebrate the incredible contributions that healthcare quality experts make to patient care. Every hour of every day, Envision physicians, clinicians, and clinical support teammates strive for the delivery of reliable, high-quality care, and we want to take this opportunity during National Healthcare Quality Week to reflect on the incredible work that you all do to ensure that important clinical implementation gaps are rapidly identified and closed, that we can quickly respond to the ever changing needs of our communities, and that the highest standards of quality and safety are met for every patient, every time.

Delivering safe, high-quality, high-value clinical care and demonstrating its delivery is complex and requires important contributions from a range of quality professionals. To this point, in addition to our exemplary clinical teams and their operational support, I would like to recognize all of the individuals who tirelessly focus on quality, safety, risk-mitigation, analytics and informatics, and reporting from our Clinical Center of Excellence, including our Documentation Education team, Clinical Analytics, Innovation, Research, the Physician Quality Registry, and of course our Clinical Services team. All of you play crucial roles in shaping, driving, and maintaining the highest standards of care within our medical group.

I am excited to report that our teams continue to exceed national clinical quality benchmarks across all service lines and are delivering on hospital, health system, and payer initiatives that drive both quality and value for our patients and partners. In addition, our exemplary, multispecialty Clinical Quality Committees (CQCs), which all clinicians are invited to join, focus on identifying and closing important clinical implementation gaps by defining, designing, and implementing evidence-based, pragmatic clinical pathways, including:

  • Embolic stroke
  • Congestive heart failure
  • Sepsis management
  • AI-enhanced radiology reading
  • Lowering unnecessary hospital admissions
  • Lowering 72-hour emergency department revisits
  • Minimizing inpatient length of stay
  • Enhancing pediatric diabetic ketoacidosis management
  • Enhancing the well-being of newborns
  • Enhancing the recognition of severe post-partum conditions

I encourage each of you to get involved in National Healthcare Quality Week by completing one of Envision’s many educational offerings or by taking advantage of the resources available through the official National Healthcare Quality Week website.

Our commitment to quality and continuous improvement is what sets us apart, and I am immensely proud of the dedication you all bring to your roles. Let's use this week as a platform to inspire each other, share our knowledge, and reinforce our commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. Together, we can continue to raise the bar and set new standards of excellence in healthcare quality.
