NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Envision Healthcare, a leading national medical group, today announced the appointment of J. Michael Bruff as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective October 28, 2024. Bruff steps into the role as current Envision CFO Henry Howe prepares to transition out of the organization at the beginning of January. Howe will serve as a senior advisor to the executive team during the transition. Megan Barney, Envision’s current Chief Information Officer, also will be departing in early January. The organization has started a search to fill the position. The changes are part of Envision’s ongoing journey to being a valuable and reliable partner to clinicians, hospitals and patients.

About J. Michael Bruff
Bruff has more than 30 years of finance and operational leadership experience. He most recently served as CFO of ChenMed, one of the nation's leading primary healthcare providers serving seniors where he led key financial and operational initiatives. Previously, he served as CFO of Lifestance Health and as CFO of Varian Medical Systems, leading up to the company's record-breaking sale to Siemens Healthineers in August 2020. Bruff spent 19 years in domestic and international roles across finance and business functions at Dell Technologies, including as CFO of the Asia Pacific and Japan Commercial Business and as Senior Vice President of North America Strategy, Planning and Operations. Bruff has held past finance roles at CA, Inc., MCI Telecommunications and Deloitte & Touche. He earned a Bachelor of Science in accounting and a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Maryland.
